During a panic attack there are very specific symptoms one needs to be aware of. Many people experience intense anxiety and fear of impending doom. Other mental symptoms can be a racing mind, usually with negative thoughts, and illogical conclusions too convoluted thought processes that do not match the current situation. Some common physical symptoms include: a racing heartbeat, shortness of breath, nausea, chills, choking, sweating, tingling or numbness in your extremities and sometimes chest pain.
